Privacy Policy

Who we are

Manifestream (manifestream.com) is an independent project, built and run in Hungary by CompletApp, a one person product studio ("we", "us"). We are building the Manifestream app and community. If you have any question about this policy or your data, write to us at hello@manifestream.com and you will reach the person who made the site.

What we collect

We keep it minimal. The site has no user accounts and no advertising or retargeting trackers.

• Your email address, only if you choose to join the waitlist.
• Technical logs created by our hosting provider when any website is served (such as IP addresses processed transiently for security and abuse prevention). We do not use them to identify you.
• Cookieless visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, does not build personal profiles, and cannot follow you to other sites. It runs for every visitor and shows us page-level counts, not people.
• Optional analytics, only if you agree. If you accept in the banner, we also load Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which do set cookies. The next section describes exactly what they do. If you decline, or simply never answer, neither one loads at all.

We do not sell or rent personal data. Ever.

Cookies, and the choice you get

Nothing that sets a cookie loads before you choose. On your first visit you get one banner with two equally weighted buttons, and until you press one of them no analytics runs. Closing the page is not treated as agreement. Your answer is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so declining writes nothing you did not ask for.

The free Intention Planner also uses your browser's local storage, for one job only: keeping your draft on your own device so a reload does not lose it. What you type there is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never leaves your browser; the Start over button on that page removes it, and so does clearing your browser data.

You can change your mind whenever you like: use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, and the banner comes back.

If you accept, two services load:

• Google Analytics tells us which pages people actually read and where they leave. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ plus an identifier, which last up to two years and mark your browser as a returning visitor. We keep its advertising features switched off, so it is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
• Microsoft Clarity shows us how pages are used, including a replay of pointer movement, clicks, and scrolling, plus heatmaps of where people look. It sets cookies named_clck, _clsk and CLID, and Microsoft may set an identifier of its own. Session replay is the most intrusive thing on this site, so it is worth being exact. It is configured to mask text. The waitlist email field is additionally marked, so that what you type there is never recorded. We use it to find layouts that confuse people, not to watch individuals.

Both are off by default and both stop at your first decline. The cookieless Cloudflare counts in the previous section are the exception: they run for everyone, because they set nothing on your device and cannot identify you.

Why we are allowed to do each of these

• Your consent covers the waitlist email and the two optional analytics services. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
• Our legitimate interest in running a site that works and is not abused covers the technical logs and the cookieless visit counts.

How the waitlist works

The waitlist uses double opt-in. When you submit your email, we store it in a pending state and send you one confirmation email. Only after you click the confirmation link do you join the list. If you never confirm, you stay unsubscribed and receive nothing further.

What we use your email for

Waitlist updates only: development news, founding circle invitations, and launch announcements for Manifestream. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who processes it

• Resend (Resend, Inc., United States) delivers our emails and stores the waitlist contact list on our behalf.
• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) hosts the site and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
• Google (Google Ireland Limited) provides Google Analytics, and only if you accepted.
• Microsoft (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) provides Clarity, and only if you accepted.

Google and Microsoft provide their services to us through their Irish companies. All four of these providers process data in the United States as well, so your data can travel there. Those transfers rely on the safeguards each provider publishes. Today that means the EU to US Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses, or both.

How long we keep it

• Your email stays until you unsubscribe, ask us to remove you, or the waitlist ends and its purpose is fulfilled.
• An address you never confirmed stays in an unsubscribed state and receives nothing further. The confirmation link itself stops working after 7 days. We clear unconfirmed addresses by hand when we review the list, and we would rather say that plainly than claim an automatic cleanup this site does not run.
• Analytics, if you accepted: we set Google Analytics to delete visitor-level data after 14 months, and Clarity recordings are deleted on Microsoft's own schedule.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can restrict or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.

You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Hungary that is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), Budapest, and its website is naih.hu. If you live elsewhere in the EU, your own national authority works too.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change (for example when the app launches), we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
